Should I buy a new phone after damaging my screen?

I damaged my screen during a vacation and can’t take selfies with my phone anymore. I like to buy the new cell phone models that cost over a $1,000 to get so I try to wait as long as possible in between phone purchases.

If you can't take pictures with your camera, then the phone might have some damage, so I would just get the new phone.

I've heard people have phone from screen damages and they keep them for longtime
