How many forums or online communities have you been banned from?

I get banned for some of the stupidest reasons. Just the other day I got this email.

It's been a while since we've seen you on Skin Care Talk, and we wanted to let you know how much the community misses you!

The next day I got this email:

Your account has been banned for the following reason: spam.

If you think this happened in error, please contact the forum administrator.

Way back in June I only wrote one introduction post. I stated that I joined for a friend, but I also have acne problems. I never wrote another thing all this time. One person left me a nice comment about acne. But I hadn't been back for all this time. So it was a shock when I got the message I was banned. I wrote them to find out why. Waited for a few days, and then they told me promoting external sources is spam.

The person is more of an online acquaintance than a friend. But I get so sick and tired of all the touchy rules some forums have. It's almost like they are just looking for a reason to ban someone! I literally did nothing and got banned. I think people should at least get a nice warning explaining why you are getting banned before just being mean.

I have been banned in a variety of places, for the stupidest reasons.

I was banned on Reddit, because I couldn't post in any place, people disliked my normal opinions, got negative karma, and the platform won't allow me to recover it. Then I tried to like my comments from another account, just to get to zero, and it got blocked permanently.

In three other places I have been banned just to tell people they don't really listen. They didn't like it, then blocked.

Finally I was banned forever on Tinder, after just a few days on it, because of uploading a photo. Suddenly the photo disappeared, I thought it was a bug, and I reuploaded it.

But it was due to the photo being shirtless. The second time they decided to ban my email for life.

You're thinking like a real person, but the forum is a machine. The rules are simple and automated. The post wasn't from your profile, it was a one-off, and it didn't fit the topic. It was 'external' to the forum's flow, so it was flagged as spam. You were making a gesture, but the machine was processing a data stream. It wasn't personal, it was just a violation of the system's rules.

I've seen a lot stupidity made around forum and social media rules. I don't know if I'm right or not, but I think stupid rules are often the reason why many online communities die out.

IGN, GameSpot, GiantBomb, Escapist, WordPress, Reddit, Quora, LinkedIn, and Acer for permanent bans, so not including platforms where I've only received temporary bans or permanent bans that weren't site wide. But you also mentioned about forums and online communities, so I've also excluded platforms where you can't directly interact with people beyond simple comments like YouTube.

I made a post about AI not soong ago and expressed how I wanted answer from real people and not from a robot , No kidding my account was froze. I didn't say anything wrong. I just wanted answer from real people.

I almost got banned from facebook for posting the truth about the poison covid vaccines and it killing 3 people I knew IRL.

it's really no different here. if you say the right buzzword and boom. but at least they'll let you come back sometimes. i wonder if the mods have the ability to permaban here? i know one who'd love to do it to me.
