DM’s not being seen on instagram?

I just created an IG account following people I know. I sent some DM out and nobody is reading them? I tried commenting on their posts saying “check your DM” or “check your pm’s” and Instagram deletes them immediately. It lets me comment “check your messages” but nobody checks. I don’t understand what’s going on?

I don't know either, but a friend from youtube wanted me to join instagram to help support her instagram too. I did that, and found out quickly that the instagram rules was just not for me, and so I left it.

Your dms are in the filtered messages. They don’t get notifications.

So I told someone to check and there was no message from me at all showing up anywhere, yet I sent a message! Is there a wait time to have messaging work? I literally made an account today, maybe new accounts need a wait time for all functions to work?
