What does it mean if you followed someone on social media but removed you as their follower, and still has their profile public?

So I’ve been reflecting a lot about my dating years and certain guys that really stuck with me and I reached out to them for some closure and to apologize and acknowledge my side of things. Some of them responded, some of them read it but didn’t respond to me.

There’s this particular guy that I used to talk to for a good year or so and we both had feelings for each other but it was a little toxic/ complicated back then. So his profile is public and I was able to send him a message, I was curious and followed him. When I went back to check his profile he removed me from his followers tab but profile is still public. The message I sent him hasn’t been read and I’m still able to send him a message

Just drop it from there! Don't try to connect with him in any way from this point on and just turn around and put your attention to something or someone else! Him ignoring your message and then removing you from his followers list is his answer! It's the equivalent of you showing up where he works, walking up to him and trying to hand him your message written on paper and he looks at you but without saying a word turns around and walks away.
