Never used it. Don't think I would either because there's so much food that I don't like. What if you get a bag and don't like anything in it.

But, you can choose what places you get your surprise bags from, so you have some choice.
Also, some places tell you roughly what you will get.

If you get something you don't like -- well, at least you didn't pay full price for it. I suppose you could give it to a friend / someone else. I like the adventure aspect of the app, it also helps I am only allergic to a couple things, as far as I am aware.

Think of it this way - if there is a restaurant you want to try, but hesitant because of the price, this is a way for you to try it out in an affordable way.
