Have you ever tried to access the dark web, and what was your experience like?

I have never tried to access the dark web. I once googled a guy from university who posted an ad trying to recruit work partners for a school project but he had a strange name and when I typed the letters of his name into the computer with a few unintentional typos, I ended up seeing ads for a child porn website. I did not click on the links but I tried to remember the google terms I used to hit those ads online. I decided that I would walk to the police station in 3 days when I was less busy with school and report the child porn websites to the police. But before I could do that, the links I saw online advertising child porn stopped leading to illegal activity in online ads.

The deep web, yes. The dark web, no.
It’s not exactly user friendly and i didn’t get as much out of it as i’d like. Due to that experience, i have never gone back. Maybe it’s improved but i don’t know.

That could - theoretically - happen almost anywhere, in any network.
