Does anyone still use Plenty of Fish, or is it mostly inactive now?

i recall hearing about it years ago it actually used to be fairly popular but not sure if anyone still uses it now , you used to be able to click on site and see who local members were without being one but now its like a pay wall entrance and cannot site site itself , but appears to still exist , i might of had an account years ago but don't recall ever getting a date from it, i don't have any interest in joining it now just wondered

haven't got any replies from anyone saying they still use it and getting dates so we can assume its not what it used to be

I logged in once several years ago and I realized all the attractive guys were off the market at my age, and only the leftovers were on there. You can still find attractive guys, but not on dating sites. You have to meet them in real life.

can meet them in real life but are they still single? , by 30's 40's most people have found someone so yeah it mostly be long term singles or some seperated/divorced people by then

i find here a lot of attractive girls want you to meet them inperson then you find out they aren't really single , its like they crave the attention or they get too much stability either financial/emotional in current relationship they cannot leave even though they might crave someone new and different

i also know someone who got married to someone they meet on that site , it would of happened like 12 or more years ago. they were not actually a long term member rather a new one as she liked his profile.

but years later is some weird issues , he accusing her of lying about her profile ( yes like a decade later ) he still brings it up often , it would appear she created her's to appear more similar to him than she really was but he also lied about his age was way older than her at time

she hopes they go in for counselling although the issue might be they meet on a dating site a decade ago and did not actually know each other before getting serious

I never used dating apps.

Most women i know that use them are always complaining they can't find anyone. My theory on that is that they spend so much time and energy shopping around and the grass is always greener elsewhere that they never get to know a guy and if they do they are always holding back believing there's some better more perfect guy around the corner.

i suppose , people seem to be more picky about who they date , dating aps can give off the feeling there is more options than there really is

although i suppose any attractive under 30 women has way more options than she'd realise as like so many guys would message one if on one of those things , there accounts sometimes like get flooded with random requests

Its more than just being picky. The women I know that are single and always on dating apps that actually want yo get get married and have kids well they might find this great guy that ticks all or most of the right boxes but still the guy isn't good enough or they find a minor flaw with him that puts them off.
Its like if a girl was dating henry cavil. Handsome, tall, charming, intelligent, educated, athletic/muscular wealthy, famous etc and then she finds out that he's a computer nerd into i think world of war craft and those little models they build and its a no go. Obviously thats an extreme case.

maybe those sites created the fantasy they had endless options , years mean decades ago women especially those in small towns had very few options like literally had to choose between 2 or 3 local men to marry often the neighbour down the road

men who decades ago had descent options now have no options as the women feel they have 100's of available men waiting for them and can pick and choose until they find the one perfect one

although i feel like in reality those women don't actually have an many options as they think , its just a fantasy , they have more options than women did decades ago but not endless and there making search more long than it should be

Women years ago had the same options they do now. If a guy wasn't acceptable to her and her parents she wouldn't marry him. Hed hace to prove himself capable of supporting her and a family.

but only knew guys that lived within a small area , i suppose large high schools increased the options somewhat but still very limited , online dating like convinced some they have endless choices and can be picky until they find someone more perfect than other guy

i doubt most women in reality have more than 1 or 2 men that actually are truly interested in dating them unless there like super desirable or well known in there area then they might have a large number but most average women in reality do not have 100's of men interested , the dating sites are a fantasy that so many are actually interested and even if these men message them most won't meet in person and even if they did doubtful they'd be that into them

Are you kidding? Might be 100 guys. I myself had like 10 guys asking me out per month when I was single and im just an average girl.

but some might not be " truly " interested , meant like 1 or 2 guys that are deeply truly interested not like guys who'd send 1 message on a dating site to every random single

truly meant a guy that actually wants to be in a relationship with them ,

most single girls who are even half descent get swamped with message's on dating sites but its not like most of those guys even know them at that point , there message every single girl in the desperate hope someone writes back

kind of reminds me of a bar that used to be really popular , still open but no one really goes there anymore and its struggling to stay relavent

when i searched google like a dozen other dating aps and sites come up so how does one even stand out anymore , my issue is i live in a small town so not many nearby matches unless you want to try dating someone in another city which would be an issue on itself like wouldn't they already have a career , house and such in that city why would they want to come here?

I have never met anyone who has used a dating app. Quality people don't need dating apps, so that might be a reason.

it be a red flag to me if someone said they exclusively used that app as even back then it was sort of sketchy and not sure how popular it is now it may have way less members

it comes up if you search dating sites but only a tiny link and such
