Hi y'all ! I’ve been away from here for awhile because I’ve been busy with life but I’m back. Recently I decided to take some time out and travel. I wanted to share my experience with you all !
Belize
The first thing we did in Belize was explore the town with a tour guide. The people there are so friendly and I must add I have never seen so many attractive people in one place. We took a 1 hr tour of the city and fell in love !
A Fact about Belize
- The language of Belize is Creole but English is their primary language.
The Town
Overall the town was great. I really liked the colors of some of the houses (especially the pink one haha). We were able to see some of the damage from their most recent hurricane and some of the homes were completely dilapidated and there were people still Inhabiting them.
My first stop on the tour was this local fruit stand. I bought 2 bags of fresh mangoes for $2 USD. I only had a $20 and the stand owner did not have any USD to give me back In change so I got all $18 of my change back in Belizian Dollars. The fruit was amazing. It was sweet and grown locally.
Our next stop was to Ms. Pattie’s restaurant. It was a small little shack with outdoor seating. The food was pretty good. I got the red beans and rice with fried plantains and potato salad (no meat cause I’m still a vegetarian). The potato salad was a 9/10 definitely one of the best I’ve had. Fried plantains were a 7/10 not bad but it’s something I would have to get used to. Red beans and rice were a 7/10 not bad but they were a little dry.
Here are my belizian dollars. Their money is very colorful . I was going to exchange it when I got back to the US but I decided to keep it as a souvenir.
Overall, I enjoyed my trip. Despite the intense heat, it was a 10/10 ! I would definitely go back. I would have uploaded more pictures but I took a lot of videos. Thanks for reading !
