Staten Island is a borough of New York City that’s more quiet and suburban. New Jersey is an entire state but is also seen as a giant suburb of New York City. So it’s basically a question of small suburb or big suburb.

I lived in Brooklyn and I have distant family in Staten Island. I like the vibes there more than NJ.
