What do u think about not having personal car?

I have worked for more than 10 years
I try to save my money and spend a little just for paying taxi, buy cloths and my favourite foods
I go to work by metro and taxi and it’s more comfortable and economic than personal car
I also have gone on many good trips abroad ( luxury and 5 star hotels)
I plan to be retired at 45 years old and at that time I want to buy a Mercedes Benz and a small house abroad to go there one month each year
Is my plan a good idea? What’s better for me to do in your idea?
If you were in my shoes, would you buy a personal car right now?

Cars are a major expense, so if you can avoid owning one then by all means do so. While working I always drove Audi's or BMWs. Those brands, like the MB you crave, are fine cars, but very pricey to own and maintain. Looking back, I wasted a lot of money driving around in high $$$ cars. If you insist on getting a car, just lease a normal brand- something like a Nissan- for three years and see how much or how little you actually drive it.

I don’t want to buy now because my work is so far from my home (totally 90 km)
Some years later, when I get retired, I’ll buy and I’ll drive it just near my home to go gym, restaurant ….)
Between BMW, MB, Toyota and Lexus which of them is better for me?
I myself prefer BMW or MB

Is it worth to buy a 0-km car but lower model (for example 2015 model) or used car but new models?

As a car enthusiast with multiple vehicles I’m not sure I can be objective lol. I can see how living in the city would make car ownership a pain though. If it works for you, it works for you. I prefer to commute to work from outside the city, but my city is pretty small anyway.

If you don't really need a car, like in NYC, why have one? If where you live has no public transportation or taxi service, how could you get around without one?

When I want to go to restaurant, buy groceries, … I use my mothers car

Paying for taxis is like five times the price of owning a budget commuter car over the life of the car. It is less expensive for first uses, but it waste a lot of money over a decade.

I have a short distance taxi which isn’t so expensive and metro ticket isn’t expensive too

By the mile it is more expensive over time. It doesn't matter to me though. Waste your money however you want.

It really depends on where you live. I don't have a car but I live in the outskirts of the capital, so I got good public transportation and both close to the core and the outer larger stores.

I live in a really rural town so if I did not have a personal vehicle I would be walking all the time.
