My friend and I went to a major mall with like a 6 story parking garage, but the mall has many levels and many twists and turns as well as new construction so it's easy to get lost in there and the garages. We came out of the mall and couldn't find her car which we thought was parked on a yellow level. After a half hour of searching, we believed the car had been stolen. So we picked up the emergency call box to see if we could call mall security for some assistance. Note to self, if you're getting killed in the mall, don't attempt to use this because not only did no one come, no one even answered the phone. It ended up taking close to an hour all told between waiting and searching before we finally found it. We were on the right level, but we'd exited on the wrong side of the mall.
Nope always found my car, now I did have a car that looked identical to mine once parked right next to mine, and it wasn't locked and I got into the drivers seat and my key wouldn't work. Then I looked around and saw different junk all over the place and like WTF is going on, then I got out and freaked... like oops wrong car that looked the same though.
Keep in mind we've been locked in this parking garage stairwell for like 20 minutes, dude
Okay, so then we turn around and what do we see? A scary homeless dude. And I'm like, "Oh, shit!" Yeah, and I'm like, uh, you know, like, I'm like, "What do we-- what do we do?" you know. And then Mac, he's just like-- "Just chill!" And I'm like, "How do we chill, dude?" Yeah, and I'm all, "Oh, shit, he's gonna talk now." Yeah, and I'm-I'm all like, "How do you know he's gonna talk?" And I'm like, "Because his mouth is opening." And then he did talk. Yeah, and then he goes-- he goes, "I-I'll let you out of the stairwell, 'cause I have the key, because I'm the security guard instead."
I always remember the surroundings that are unique to the place where our car is parked.
Like this column here. The code was what I memorized.
But the location too. Not every parking garage will have this good system, right! This parking garage is literally like a maze, so I remember the turns too. I am pretty good at remembering the turns. Sort of like a mental map.

This has actually happened to me a few years ago. The nice 20ish something cleaning lady (Mandy) walked me around for over an hour until we found it. Everything was going great flirting, mutual attraction, plenty of eye contact & body language, she even accidentally touched me several times.
I got the feeling & was about to ask for her # & if she'd like to go out sometime when she mentioned her boyfriend. I told her it was nice meeting her & said goodbye. She looked crushed after but I don't know what to say; never felt the need to go after another mans girl.
Not a garage parking, but we had something similar happened twice when we bought a new car.
The first time, we forgot what our car looks like, and were walking around a Wal-Mart parking lot for 30 minutes before we found it, and my dad actually thought it had been stolen.
Then time we went to a concert with a new car, and our old car was always so easy to find, because there weren't very many like it. But this one just blended in with the rest. We wondered around the parking lot for an hour, and we finally found it when the lot cleared out a bit.
Itās one of those āhuman experiencesā that we all live through at some point or anotherā¦. Falling in love, losing a loved one, a favorite pet dying, and getting lost in a parking lot! We all go through it. Those who claim to have never gone through it, are either lying or if just hasnāt happened to them yet!
Yeah, I would go to convention at like 9am, pay to park in garage, do things, hang out in the city, and then can't remember jack where I parked at 11pm
I remember dropping a pin in maps app not being good enough, eventually I would just take pictures of the surroundings and floor signs because some of these concrete garages might have weak cell signal, especially if you park at basement levels.
Okay, not lost, but I forgot that I didn't drive to work that day. I was very very confused...
But don't judge me, that was a really long day at work lol
once, I made it all the way to school on a Sunday, when it was closed... lol
Lol Yeah I'm sure that was a good feeling when you got to go home though
that was a Sunday morning sleep I never got back... lmao
classes started at 7am sharp
It's always worse if I leave for lunch and then come back and end up in another section. I won't say how many times I've "taken the scenic route" to get to my car at the end of the day.
This is kind of embarrassing to say but I ALWAYS get lost in parking garages... not sure why but the geometry of buildings like that fuck with my head. Lol
That has never happened to me because I don't have a car. But it happened to my father and I was with him. After looking and looking for the car we found it.
Well: similar: I went to an exhibition years ago (Hamburg; centre) and struggled to find a parking lot. It took me 15 minutes to get to the exhibition; but it took one hour to figure out where my car was when I had finished that day.
Oh my God yes. 45 minutes or so. I misremembered the parking number and we all got lost until some guy in a golf cart wordlessly led us to the correct section
Yes, Iām a super forgetful person so Iāve forgotten where my car was many times.
But now I always use Siri to save the location or i take a picture of where it is so I know
Nah but one time I had to go searching for my husband's car and took me literally days to find it. Was like playing hide n seek with a car 😂
Oh yes! Definitely!
And it becomes more problematic as same car with same color can be there that does not belong to you!šš
š
Yes it has, but worse was losing car in outside lot at Sea World Orlando!
if it's someplace I have never been, or really big I will take a picture of either where I am parked, or a landmark so I can find it again.
lost no... but one time I could not find my car, it was stolen
Luckily no but this happens we lose track of the vehicle at Walmart
Nope, most of my trucks have been tall enough to see over everything else around it
I have been out shopping , forgot the car and court the bus home..
Woow
This is next level.
But understandable.
People forget their kids, car is a very small thing.š
I have never been to really big parking garages so I never got lost and another part maybe coz I don't park my own car someone does it for me
that's what the beeper is for i have look in the wrong street before now
