Have you ever "caught the car"?

I heard this expression yesterday. It is about if you chase a girl for a long time and you finally get her and all of a sudden it is not so great after all. Sort of like a dog chasing a car and finally catching it.

So what's it called, when I realize I'm being chased and I hit the brakes and he rams into me?

I don't believe in playing hard to get, that only comes across as someone not being interested.

I get trying for a bit, but if someone isn't ready or not interested move on.

I find the longer and harder you chase someone, it isn't necessarily more rewarding as expectations get higher, like waiting longer for a meal to eat. If it is taking so long to make, it must be really good right?

Not always and if something is meant to happen, it should be hard to make happen or to force it.

Yes I've had that happen to me which is why I no longer chase guys. I let them chase me. It's also why I look at his virtue because virtue is the only thing that stays the same. You might find a guy good looking today and ugly tomorrow, funny today and dull tomorrow, smart today and dumb tomorrow, but virtue stays the same and you can love virtue your whole life.

Thankfully not in this situation but I've been run over a few times (divorce settlements).
