What are some countries or places you either completely forget even exists or didn't even know existed?

I'm pretty good at world geography, though not perfect at it by a long shot. I know most of the world's countries without being a geography expert or into it, but some places I either forget existed or had no idea were even real places.

most difficult question I've been asked on here. If I don't know it exists, I won't remember it.

But... The name you listed for one (not sure if there are more) may be uncommon.. For example,... Eswatini, Just last week I learned Eswatini was Swaziland (I'm more familiar with the name Swaziland).

Presently, I didn't know Nauru and Kiribati were countries.. Seriously?

A lot of those places you listed I didn't know about until I looked back in the history of the British empire and discovered they either colonised or invaded just everyone in that list lol.

I try to forget Gary, Indiana, but questions like this make me remember.

I always remember Gary whenever I need a "Million Dollars But" question, and have to come up with the biggest hellhole murder-town I can think of.

"Million Dollars, But you have to live 5 years in Gary, Indiana."

I've only ever heard of 4 of those, I'm unsure how many countries there are so I dunno how many I don't know about in total.
