I travel for work. I walk in and it's a complete dump. The lady at desk has no clue what she's doing and you could tell but she kept making excuses to cover for it. I go to my room and there are wet towels and bottles everywhere. No biggie, mistakes happen. I go to desk again. I get the " oh I'm so sorry this never happens" routine. I go to a new room. Same thing. It's a disgusting mess. The chair is all ripped up and gross. There are towels and dirty stuff everywhere. I go back again. At this point it's getting old. Im carrying my bags all over the hotel. I see every inch of the hotel. There is garbage everywhere. I finally get a room, it's disgusting, but at least I can rest. There is dust everywhere. The items in room are sticky and gross, the bed has boogers on it. I am skeeved out to the point my OCD is going nuts and I can't be in the room. I can't switch hotels though because my work paid for it and I'm not working for free by paying for new hotel. I finally go to sleep and the room across the hall has a full on party. Cops had to come to stop it. I slept in a dirty filthy place, got no sleep at all and had to be up at 4:30 am. Worst hotel experience ever.

+1 yIt kind of depends on your tolerance level. I have been in all sorts of hotels never had a bad experience per se. Just some unwashed bed sheets were the biggest thing we had to change a hotel and it was complained by a couple of friends I went with. I was like okay I'll put my towel on the pillow and sleep. Because as a guy who went on travel with friends for budget made me tolerate those simple stuff anyways.
I have seen frogs in the bath, I have had smelly unclean rooms, I have had small very old rest houses that has moisture on the walls, I have even spent nights at railway stations, spent night on trains (without getting sleeper carriages). So it's not a big deal for me.02 Reply- +1 y
I wonder. If asking the housekeeper if they can put pillows on dry cycle before you check in

Moisture thing sucks what to do

+1 yThis isn't exactly what you're asking but I'd have to say my worst experience is living next to an Airbnb, I live in a town house so i share a wall with with my "neighbors" which mean I can hear everything that happens next door. The worst part is every weekend it's a different group of about 6 to 12 people at a time and they like to talk loudly and play music until 3am sometimes. I don't mind Friday and Saturday nights that much unless have to work over the weekend but when they make noise up until the early morning on Sunday nights it's too much. At the moment I'm trying to find another place to move into.

+1 yDuring a road trip, it was past midnight. My family and I stopped at super 8 hotel, and my dad checked us in. Well, once my brother and I went into our room. It smelled like animal, poop and piss.
I kept trying to find where the smell was coming from. Till I stepped on a wet carpet area barefoot. I couldn’t complain cause it was already 2 am and my dad wanted us to be up and check out at 6 am 🤦🏻♀️.
I couldn’t sleep either cause I began to get allergies. That once we checked out, the front desk clerk had her sheep dog with her 🙄.12 Reply- +1 y

I once had a meth head put his cigarette out in my drink. Got really mad and a whole zombie apocalypse of tweakers came out trying to fight me lol. I thought this inn was nice since it was right on the beach, but it was pretty ghetto. Cops came and everything, My now wife vomited uncontrollably that same night since we drank too much. Horrible night lol

+1 yI was really tired from driving and knew I couldn’t drive all the way home so I stopped at a hotel that seemed nice online. I went there and the guy at the counter gave me a beer can. Said I can drink it and bring the empty van down and the stripper at the hotel had her 40th stripping/work anniversary that night and she would smash the van with her boobs. I later talked to another worker who said that the hotel just got remodeled and it had to be shut down years back because of a lot of bad stuff that happened. I get to my room and their are earplugs and a sound machine with a note that said if it is too pound to use this because the bar is right under the room. It also had that old musky smell that I hate. I left and got a different hotel that was much nicer because I knew I wouldn’t get any sleep. I didn’t get my money back which sucked. It was 300$

300 per one night? Damn!

Yea, way too expensive for that place.
Hotel- ran by indians who gave me a remote that didn't work and it was outside. Hate hotels that put me outside and not like inside the building.
Airbnb- tv died on the day I left and it was mediocore. ran by two old white ladies, and it was my first and last time doing that.10 ReplyMy Airbnb experiences were good.
2 bad hotel experiences:
1. Bedbugs and had an allergic reaction
2. Had to listen to a domestic fight at a motel... it occurred inside and outside one of the rooms and the police finally came to end it by 4am. ... no sleep at all that night and the motel didn’t charge us for the night10 Reply- 1.1K opinions shared on Travel topic.
+1 yBest Airbnb was when we were vacationing to visit a canyon park and booked a room for 7 people even though it was big enough for 12 people. We were in the middle of no where and the only place that sold food was a gas station with chicken so bad tasting it was like boiled chicken with no flavouring at all but I loved our room because it was comfortable and beautiful and well air conditioned and had nice clean pillows and blankets.
10 Reply My worst airbnb experience was when I tried to find a place to live, but couldn't because they'd all been turned into fucking airbnbs.
In my county last summer, there were 10,029 properties listed on airbnb, compared to just 62 properties available to rent long term. Families were being evicted so the landlords could put the houses on airbnb instead. Students were having to drop out of university because they couldn't find anywhere to live, while others camped in tents.
It needs banning.01 Reply- +1 y
Woah
Hmm I tried a random get away that air bnb suggested. That was probably the worst because the area was dull. The place itself was fine though.
best was a big place by the ocean with friends. Probably more so the company than the place made it so enjoyable, but it was a really nice place too!10 Reply322 opinions shared on Travel topic. Ohhh wow went on a mission trip from Chicago to New Delhi guy told us we got a good price on hotel we are good here. Got in the room and it smelled like shit. Open sewer. Look at the bed look like sheets were there for a long time. I was so glad to get out of that place
10 ReplyFound bed bugs.
Changed rooms.
The door deadbolt didn't work.
So I put the big chair in front of the door and slept with my gun all night while my family slept in the beds.10 Reply3K opinions shared on Travel topic.
