it has gone down over 50cents a gallon in the last week in Florida

It hasn't gone down that much.
30ish cents on a 3 to 4 dollar increase is not much at all.
The price gets jacked way up, it comes down a little but not all the way down to the price it was before the increase and people are happy.
They are still paying more, but psychologically they think it is better because it is less.
Stuff like that is researched to see what people will put up with.
Just like the lines at Disney, they are created to hold X amount of people, so they aren't all walking around the park, or why airlines use blocks of 20 minutes when there is a delay.
Studies have shown that is a number that people will accept.
So they just keep adding another 20 more minutes.
How would you feel if they came out and said we will be delayed at lest 2 hours and 45 minutes.
People are studied like lab rats.

They haven't come down here. I think something like £1.86 a litre here for petrol.

They have only gone down 25 cents. BFD. Call me when they get down to 2 bucks again.
