Are you thinking of buying an all-electric car or hope this gas crap blows over?

I did lease one for about a year. I do too much driving for it to be worth my while.

Basically if you cover over 150 miles a day then electric isn't likely to work for you. The reason being that all out you can drive about 200 miles without stop, but you need to charge about 1-2 hours to make the 200 miles back.

So ideally you'll "park and charge" wherever you can. Which only works out if you're in spots long enough to charge anything worthwhile or can find spots. I drive in cities -plenty of spots - but also out in the sticks -no spots- hence had to plan journeys by spots and often couldn't risk the car.

Since I already own a car, the gas price would have to get a lot higher to make buying a new electric car return on investment opportunity.

It will be a few years yet before I will think about purchasing an electric car.

I'm thinking of buying a wagon and adopting some dogs. If you can train fourteen huskies to pull a massive sled a thousand miles, then surely a couple of labradors colud be taught to pull a wheeled wagon a few dozen.

Electric cars are still too expensive and don't have the range of conventional combustion engine cars. I'll stay with the conventional for now, and find ways to survive high gasoline prices. by the way, fully charging an electric car is not cheap.
