What are the Northernmost and Southernmost Countries on Earth?

How well do you know geography?

Today, let's ask a two-part question "What country extends farthest North? What country extends farthest South?"

Please don't cheat by looking it up. Make your best guess.

Thanks to all who participated...

There seems to be some legitimate disagreements about this. The answer that I have, from the sources that I typically use, is:

Northernmost - Denmark (Greenland is most north and is part of Denmark; some sources say Greenland is a self-governed country)
Southernmost - Chile just beats out Argentina at the southern tip of South America

Chile or Argentina, not sure to which country the southern end of SA belongs.

Antarctica is no country as far as i know.

North:

Denmark (Greenland is still a part of Denmark as far as i know) or maybe some small russian island in the polar region is more north.)

North pole, and South pole :D

Northernmost: Denmark (Greenland isn't a country, but belongs to Denmark)

Chile is the southernmost country in the world, and the closest to Antarctica (Antarctica isn't a country and doesn't belong to any country)

Southernmost I know 100% is Chile, 'cuz I've been there.

Northernmost however, I'm not entirely sure. I think possibly Denmark if you include Greenland

Close... Greenland is not a country but you have the right idea. Argentina isn't quite the southernmost.
