BEAUTIFUL areas, but not nearly as fun when you need Z-packs for Buddha belly/traveler's belly constantly. Even religiously trying not to get sick, you could still get into trouble. Medical care is not up to par. That being said, everything else is amazing over there! Cheap and gorgeous.

I'd only retire in another country if nationalism was gone from the planet, and they spoke English as their primary language wherever it was, and it was in a temperate zone, and they weren't behind on technology.

So basically never.

If immigration laws and language barriers did not exist? Japan would be my home.
