For our British people, what suggestions do you have for hosting a British citizen for two weeks?

I know the British don't need an instruction manual and aren't known for being high maintenance. However, I'm hosting a British lady in her late 20s from a funeral home in England. It's part of a networking initiative (like an exchange program) so funeral home operators and directors can get a sample of practices from different countries. She arrives August 13th and will stay for two weeks in a guest room in our apartment. I'm in the Kansas City metro area.

If you were coming here, what would you like to experience, either from an American or a regional point of view? My husband is already BBQ planning so she may go home in a meat coma.

First of all confirm what part of uk she's from, if she's welsh or Scottish she might be a little touchy if you call her English. Don't do the American thing of asking " Newcastle, is that in London?" some of us have accents that are hard to understand. She'll probably be self conscious if people keep asking her to repeat herself so whatever you do don't let her borrow your gun. Don't mention brexit unless you want to set her off on a rant. Looking at Google, kansas food isn't too different from British so you're OK there, don't be afraid to serve Asian food it's a big part of our diet. Expect her to mention the weather a lot, it's the standard conversation starter.

She's from Norwich, so she's definitely English - maybe not originally, but I'll confirm either before or right after she gets here. I've only been to London and took a day trip one day to Salisbury so yeah, I get how Americans think all of England (and the UK for that matter) is London. I've spoken with her on the phone, she's very easy to understand. She won't have trouble understanding anyone here; contrary to popular belief, most Kansans don't talk like rubes, especially in the cities. No worries, I won't be giving her access to the vault with the Dead Relative Gun Collection or any other firearm. She can go out shooting with me if she wants. I don't like talking politics, so I'll definitely avoid Brexit. I'll also caution her not to mention "Trump" or "Biden" too, so as not to set my staff off on a rant. Food I figure won't be a problem, there are plenty of choices and my mom likes to come over and feed people. My husband is already coming up with a food plan for BBQ since he's borderline clinical with the grill and BBQ sauces. Thanks for your input!

Also with you being in Kansas, try some of the West type of thing, Wizard of Oz, Speedway / NASCAR. if you have a big Mall there. Going out for Pizza, some touristy stuff
