Travelling to York, UK?

I’m planning a trip to York. Never been to the area, and would like some ideas on what to do and see, where to eat and stay etc and anything else worth knowing. Thanks!

You've never been to York?
Tbf I have no tips though as I've the only reason I would go there is because my bestfriend lives there and then then the only reason I would go is to go clubbing. Which I don't really do compared to the amount I go to gigs which are often in Manchester so we have to go to the other side for that.
The best thing about York is you can walk everywhere it's not exactly big so there is that.
