How do you feel about Deserts?

We don’t have legit deserts like the Sahara. But we do have the badlands. Went hiking there a couple weeks ago, aside from it being 35°C and hot we thankfully had nice winds to cool down. We did get lost, and my hiking companion had impulse control issues and wanted to keep exploring; would see something off in the distance and then be disappointed when she’d get to them because it wasn’t as cool up close. Cactuses hurt especially when you flail to catch your balance and put your hands out and meet cactuses lol. But it was an incredibly gorgeous area, saw loads of wildlife including a wolf spider.

I haven't actually experienced a desert, cloesest I have been is spain. But I never actually spent time hiking in it, my target was the mountains, not the flat plains. In general they seem boring and hot.

I like deserts, but it is not a place I would want to vacation. I like to explore plants and animals when I go somewhere, whereas diversity is typically low in the majority of deserts.

I once thought about camping in the desert. When night falls, lean on the shoulder of your lover and look at the stars in the sky. The sound of the gas bonfire next to the tent intertwined with the sound of the wind is a song of blessing. If you are lucky, you can also see shooting stars. I think it will be an unforgettable experience. We still remember these wonderful experiences when we have gray hair.

Too hot. You can dehydrate quickly in that heat. That's why you always have to bring water.
