If you were going to go an a trip with people but they keep delaying and possibly backing out would you go alone?

So I had plans to go to California because the first week of November because I’ve never been before and wanna go to the beach, sight see, etc and it’s supposed to be 4-5 of us and now it’s all messy and I don't know whether to go alone I’d be taking a rental car but I’m also scared of something happening to me going by myself. Would you go alone?
