Do you dog ear your book pages to mark your place?

Was continuing through the too-large pile of books next to my bed when I marked a page. Yes, I confess, I'm a dog-earer. I actually like bookmarks as things, just not using them. What do you do?

Thank you to all who have responded in the first 16 hours this question has been up. I am humbly sorry that I dog ear. I'm going to change my ways. Bookmarks already ordered and in the meantime am using a piece of paper. For the record, I only dog ear my books, I've never done it to someone else's, or a library book. Not an excuse, just saying. Appreciate the thoughts and perspective on this.

I never knew that's what that was called, it usually did bother me seeing a book marked with a dog ear when I was a preteen. I usually just use a book mark or the closest flat item I have. if neither is available, I use another book since I usually read two books at the same time.

No, I'm not a psychopath.

I have magnetic bookmarks, so they won't fall out of the book, super convenient and fun to play with while reading.

But yeah, I can be passionate about books, I'm also the one gasping when actors rip a book apart in movies and the like xD

No, I see those and I just wince. I mean, yes, I know it's your book, but still... I don't lack for bookmarks, whether they were intended for or not. I use those.

Never. I have bookmarks and it’s easy to make one if i run out. Dog-earing pages damages the book and books are too valuable to do that.

A - I dog ear the corner of the page to mark my place in a book. In a catalog or pamphlet, I do it to indicate something I'm interested in.
