OVERALL RISK : LOW

Usually, in beach cities, there's a low annual population compared to the crime statistics, which can make the crime seem worse than it is since it doesn't factor in tourist numbers. Fort Walton Beach has low crime numbers even just at face value before you add in tourists.

I saw a list of the most dangerous cities in the US and North Miami was one of them which shocked me. I thought Miami was a pretty upscale place and the culture in Florida does not lend itself to a high crime environment. Maybe this place is the same.
