Best historical city or country for visit?

I planning for a trip in March but I'm confused where should I go. I'm interested in historical places.

You could do worse than go to the UK. Not the greatest climate but plenty of history there, and once you are there you don't have to travel that far between cities - London, Oxford, Cambridge, etc.

Any of the major cities if Europe are steeped in history. London and its surrounding areas would be a good place to see history.
