i dont think so , there are so many foreigner ( or gaijin) who live there , so tbey are getting used with them

japanese people , general speaking , are friendly to foreigner , you can say hi to them and have convo even they are stranger , as long as you are polite and nice , they will do the same to you

i am not japanese but i had been there couple times
