Would you travel to a country that required a Visa, or is the tedious process of acquiring one not worth it for you?

If it's straightforward like Turkey's, I don't mind. But if it gets too complicated, no thanks

If I really wanted to go there I would do it. Fortunately I can go to a lot of countries without a visa. There are also countries like Turkey that I need a visa but I can get one at the border (unless something has changed). I don't need a visa for Australia, but I think they also issue one at the border. I have no idea how many countries are like that.

Visa requirements are very political and can take years or decades to change old habits.
