Do you buy airline tickets as a guest or do you always use an account with the airline?

When buying an airline ticket you can choose to buy it as a guest or create an account or frequent flyer number. Of course having an account or frequent flyer number has benefits, but I know some people purchase as a guest. Which do you do?

No I buy as a guest

I don't buy through the airline, I buy through Expedia. I use my mom's account, 'cuz she has a shit ton of points.
