Some U. S. cities and towns are lovely, but because America decided to allow its large cities (and lots of rural areas) rot, too many American cities (and exurbs) are dystopias like Detroit, Chicago, Memphis, Oakland, St. Louis, etc., and their rural environs.

I don't live in the US, but I've been to a lot of towns up and down the east coast and there are some beauties. I especially like the towns in Maine, Vermont, West Virginia, and New Hampshire.
