What country will give you a better quality of life Germany or Spain?

I’m studying languages at university and have to choose between German and Spanish… I do have French as an option as well though. I was wondering what country has a better quality of life. I am from the UK and I’m use to the grey weathers. To be honest I look both hot and cold weathers I don’t want both too hot 24/7 or too cold. I am not a fan of work. I love to try relax and enjoy life as much as possible. I mostly spend money on food and clothes and travelling. I want to be able to afford a house with a garden for my dog and I’m worried in Spain that will be challenging. I’m just confused as I like German language and the country seems beautiful but I don’t want to end up moving to a country that’s similar to the UK and I’ve never visited either countries to know if they are good or bad.

Spain is one of the most beautiful and tastiest countries I've ever visited but it gets very very very hot and dry in the summer time and I heard the job market might be difficult too cause a large group of people under 25 are unemployed and relying on family to survive.

Germany is also nice but not as tasty as Spain and there are fewer public washrooms which means you have to go to the bank to grab money every time you want to use a restroom. I also find free courtesy washrooms in countries that offer them usually have more regular maintenance too. The infrastructure might also weed out certain people, such as not being perfectly comfortable for certain people. I'm not a fan of pork and I'm very picky about my beer and my cheese so I liked vacationing in Spain more.

Oh wow you have to pay to use a restroom in Germany? Never heard of that before. Yeah I dislike pork and I’m also not much of an alcohol drinker either. I wish I could visit both before having to take my degree but only got a week left to choose. I feel like I’d be happier in Spain but im worried I’ll struggle money wise and may not be able to handle the heat but I don’t want to choose Germany and then regret it as I know it is known to be a grey country apparently and the UK is already grey enough 24/7 i just don’t know if it’s as bad as the uk or slightly better and also heard a lot of Germans are not as friendly which is same like the uk and would love to just enjoy life with good friends and a nice environment etc thank you for your answer though :)

if you like a hot country where people are chill with very little job opportunities, go to spain.

if you like a country where you get both very hot and very cold days with people being more strict and cold but better job opportunities, go to germany.

Spain. Money can't buy you mood. Spain is always sunny and has access to beautiful sea, and its always warm.

I completely agree. I just am so worried I can’t buy a home there. As I struggle to find a place for me and my dog in the uk and feel like moving to same will put me in the same situation except Spain is much better than the UK I just don’t want to struggle and don’t know if it’s difficult or not to afford things over there

I don't think homes in Spain are super expensive. It depends on where you want to live. Of course in Marbella it is indeed super expensive, but they also have smaller towns anv villages near sea shore, so its just a matter of location.
