What's Italy like?

Hey, I'm 26 from London and in 2-4 years I'm planning on getting a work visa in Italy in my field of work (teaching) just wanted to hear different experiences what Italy is like. Especially if anyone has done something similar. What's the money, vibes, people etc like?

I was there last year for 2 weeks. It's actually not as great as movies and television make it seem. It's a beautiful country of course, but the beautacracy is hell! There's so much corruption and no system or consistency to anything. Food is pathetic. So much dirt, grafitee, scammers and crazy backwards egotistical people, both Italians and Africans. And everything is so expensive.

I would avoid Rome like the plague!
