Venice. Aside from its beauty and no cars, it had by far the friendliest people and best food I came across in Italy. I just didn't like St. Mark's Square 'cuz it was too crowded. But it's not hard to find little side streets and canals where you can have the place to yourself. There's also no stupid Africans there.

I thought Venice would end up being overrated, but it's a paradise compared to Rome, where I've been staying

Only thing I'll complain about is after a day or two you get antsy as it all starts to look the same. But I would recommend Venice over Rome every day of the week, especially after cruise season ends. And it's one of those cities that still looks beautiful even in nice weather. And Venetians seem much more humble than Romans
