Best airplane seat: window or aisle?

I say window for longer trips, aisle forshorter trips... what do you think?

I try to always fly on ERJ-170/175s. I'll add 2 legs if I have to in order to stay off a widebody anything outside of a A380-800 or a Dreamliner (just because I'd like to see what the hype is about). Business class of an ERJ is a 1-2 configuration on most airlines, sometimes a 1-1, so I'll either sit on the left side where aisle and window are the same or see if I can get an easy reroute through a different hub. If everything else fails, I want the window. I like seeing the clouds and looking for that hole I'd aim for if I was jumping, or which clouds would provide the best ride (turbulence) down if it was a late opening jump. I think aisle is just boring, and since I have enough status with the airlines/credit card miles to never have to sit in cattle class, I really have all the leg room I need.

I'm with you. On shorter trips, it's unlikely that those sitting next to you will need to go to the restroom, which means you can settle into your aisle seat and stay there. On longer trips, window is better, so that you get to determine when you have to move and climb over people to go to the restroom.

I love how I go higher than clouds and then when I look out, it’s all sunny.

It’s always sunny, sometimes we get blinded by clouds, but sun is always there. Helped me think of it when I was sad in the past.

Best seat is next to the toilet. Or what ever they call that little space. Because i think i will have to use it often... to loose my food

Man, I did a consulting gig in LA for four months and had to fly to/from LA every week. Even though I was a platinum flyer I almost always got stuck in the middle seat as so my super-elite business flyers edged me out. I seriously thought about writing a short story on the "Zen of the Middle Seat".

I prefer the window. It's kind of cool looking out the window and sometimes guessing what city is what and checking out all the waterways, etc. When its a clear day you can see all the tiny fleas going to work.

If you enjoy looking out the window then the window but if you’re a big tall man like me you’ll love the aisle seat I want to spread out I can still look out the window though.

I haven't flown enough to have a preference, but if you are a person who needs to use restroom frequently I think the isle should be YOUR choice!

If it's your first flight, then the window seat. After that, pick the isle, because it's easier to get to the bat-troom.
