Do you want to visit Japan?

Question

Seems like every dude I’ve come across wants to. And then the ones I date get mad that I have no interest in joining them on their visit nor ever going there. I can only think of one ex who didn’t care to visit despite him being half Japanese himself. At first i thought it was just gamers and anime lovers trying to visit for Tokyo but one guy finally admitted he’d just go for the women. I find Japanese culture appealing from time to time. I mean I’m not into the cuisine, anime/manga nor language, but I can appreciate some things.

The kimonos and wagasa parasols are cute. The creation of karaoke is a blessing. I love Nissan, Suzuki, Yamaha, Kawasaki and Mazda. Ninjas are badass in films. Samurai Jack and Hello Kitty was the shit as a kid. Japanese b-boys are sexy. (I’m just not into the jpop stuff especially if the men wear makeup.) In general, I appreciate the majority of products made in Japan.

But none of that is reason enough for me to want to visit. I can admire their culture from a distance. But yea I just have no interest in really traveling outside of the states, with the exception of Australia, Canada, Bahamas, and maybe Italy. I don't know I’ve always been pretty closed off #FeelFreeToList

I do want to go for a few reasons. One, is inspiration from my anime years, but also because of the culture and sight seeing and history. I want to see their temples for Shintoism, I want to see the countryside, their cities, and see some sports take place (namely baseball. Japanese love their baseball.)

It is one of the only countries I really want to see and head to, but long term wise it would be a fun place to stay temporarily. Dating would be hard and difficult since mixed races in Japan and people of brown skin struggle because of mixing. It is racist to a degree but it also comes across as a blending of an upheld culture that has been passed down for centuries.

That aside, I still want to go. So long as Johnny Somali hasn't completely fucked it up for all black people to visit.

I went there with my Japanese roommate back in my 20s. We stayed with her grandma. I really enjoyed it.
we are planning our 2024 Asia trip as we speak…I am thinking of Kobe, yeas I like fatty Kobe steak. Since Kobe is close to Osaka and Kyoto, that will be one week.

Then another week up Hakaiddo, much cooler, I want to try Fugu (puffer fish) and the seafood in Japan is just so fresh, and go to an Onsen. I did that in Mt Fuji with my other friend. But my kids haven’t had that experience. We are not going to Tokyo since it’s just another big city.

I do want to visit and it makes sense given that one of the styles of painting I do is traditional Japanese ink painting even down to grinding my own ink by hand. I also write haikus in addition to other styles of poetry.

I'd like to go and see where their great works of art are what is there and see those masterpieces up close and talk with other painters or art lovers, same with writers.

I want to do the same thing with the other styles of painting I do and artists I who's work I admire.

I'm not going because of some fad but because their culture has been part of my life in some way or another since I was real young between writing, painting and martial arts, the food, I have a genuine appreciation of their culture and various aspects of it.

I enjoy Japan a lot and I have friends there who are usually excited to see me whenever I'm in town.

I bought a condo in Tokyo since I visit often.

I love riding fast trains and, call me shallow, I usually go to Japan just for the cheap thrill of riding Japan's amazing Bullet Trains (Shinkansen) with my local friends there.

my main reason to go there would be the architecture and the culture rather than the more modern aspects of the country, and the less crowded the better as well, lol

i would like to go to experience the country, especially the country side and the food. maybe catch a baseball game.

the women are fine but wouldn't be the reason i went to visit. not a fan of anime. i like gaming but don't need to go to japan for gaming.

but i definitely want to go. i'd like to experience the culture, nature, food, etc

Yeah I really have no interest in visiting either though I do want to visit China. I don't know why when their similar cultures but I just never really had a desire to go to Japan.

Other places I wouldn't want to really visit is Germany and Russia.

I do also want to visit Italy, France, Amsterdam, England, Canada, Spain, Mexico, Australia and Greece.

Although, I do realize that many Japanese people are quietly Xenophobic, or a bit distrustful of outsiders as long as I don't get harmed or treated like dirt I'm fine.. Although, I don't have as much admiration for them as I used to with their violent history and what not..

I want to go. But not to Tokyo. I want to visit Hokkaido, Kyoto, and some other cities. I find their culture very interesting, and I want to explore it.
On a side note, I heard that the Japanese are pretty imaginative when it comes to sex. So I might read, or learn something interesting tontry out, when I get back home.

I've been there. It's nuts how obsessed with American culture some of them are. Mind you this was in my bachelor days.. It's insane how much some of the women are obsessed with white men... That having been said, I would 100% visit again if only because the smaller towns and villages are cool and there is a lot of history to see. And their vending machines are just nuts. Seriously there are vending machines where you can buy an entire chef made hot dinner from. Or a car.. Or just about anything

Probably because.. hentai. I doubt it has anything to do with cultural. Japan puts a giant "sex sells"' on tourism. Even their vending machines have stickers of little school girls in short skirts looking all happy and excited. Its on cars, shop windows, video game arcades, food stores, etc. Do you know, sex is legal at 13, over there? They are disgusting! Will never visit the place

Not gonna lie, I want to go to Japan and I am also an anime lover but the reason I want to go to Japan is for the contrast they have on one side the tech which is extremely good and on the other hand the culture that is still intact.
And well women too.
But I would go anywhere to meet women not only Japan, they just need to text me the address.

I think Japanese girls are the big draw card for a lot of guys. I don't feel any great need to visit Japan. If got free tickets sure I would go but won't feel I have missed a lot. I'm not big on hype either

Want to. I like to meet new people, make new friends. Besides, I grew up watching a lot of Anime. Japan seems a really cool place from what I see in YT shorts and reels and all. Though very strict when it comes to education and schooling.
