Would you ever travel to Japan?

Question

I would sort of love to to see all the little convenience stores, the vending machines, the kawaii culture, and all the stuff that makes Japan stand out.

I've been to Japan twice with my soon-to-be wife. She was born in Tokyo but raised in Westchester-NY since her parents migrated to the US, her grannies are still in Japan though, which is good because I know I'll go to her country again and again, and get to know more places.

I really appreciated visiting Mount Fuji, the Hida mountains and the historic part of Kyoto. I've been to quite a few gardens and Shinto temples and shrines... They exude peace, it's so amazingly relaxing to be there, those places have something that simply can make us forget what the word "stress" is. Lol.

I also appreciated the food quite a lot. Although Japanese food is generally low-fat (and hardly fills the belly of someone with a high metabolism like me), it's rich in flavor and there's a wide range of good options. I made friends with a Japanese chef who taught me how to make some delicious recipes, so I learned how to make perfect yakisoba, tonkatsu sauce and gyukatsu. Try it, it's delicious!

Yes! I'd love to visit all over.

Okinawa to pay homage to the birthplace of my martial art (bonus if I manage to find a dojo that will let me train while I'm visiting, or probably more realistically just visit).

Taiko! Oh, taiko. I'd love to visit several taiko festivals and take a two week workshop - a friend recently did this and loved it.

Osaka because I must.

Tokyo because of course.

And I need to hope to find an onsen which allows tattoos. Or find a ryokan with onsen ideally.

I have. When I was 8 years old, my mom took me to Japan to meet my maternal grandparents and a few other relatives. Granted, I was too young to understand and appreciate it, but the only way I will ever go back is if they move it closer to the US. That trip is just too damn long.

Japan is a beautiful place but if you go to Tokyo it’s crazy expensive. My parents are engineers and we could only afford two days in Tokyo.

Yep I would do it again, I've actually just come back from Japan after staying there for a year, i had such an amazing time! There are dark aspects to it like any other country but it truly was an experience, will do it again.
