They've all got some ups and downs but Germany is (or at least was a few years ago) the only one I've been to that I'd consider living in. I haven't been to Hungary yet, but based on recent years/events, that would probably be my highest pick.

I can say for an absolute certainty that it isn't England, France, Italy, or Greece.

Scotland, Not only because I live here most months, but it's got pretty much anything and everything you look for across Europe.

From skiing in the Cairngorms to great food in Glasgow. From yachting spots in Largs to old history in Edinburgh.

What's your definition of best? Usually the Scandinavian countries rank in top 10 for a wide selection of concerns. However, if you want warmer climate and warmer people, then you should opt for countries around the mediterranean sea.

There are no "best" countries anywhere on the planet. My European preference would be France. Cheese, wine, culture/history and areas where one can live mostly unmolested.

Best is hard to say. Every country has its pluses and minuses. I would say the The Netherlands has done a good job with ecology, reclaiming land and encouraging the use of bicycles.

I'm particularly fond of Germany, I'd like to watch a Bayern game one day before Thomas Muller retires. A lot of Germens like to visit SF and Vegas, I've conversed with many of them and have always enjoyed their company.
