What are your thoughts around topless sunbathing?

It used to be popular in French and Spanish beach resorts years ago but not so much these days. Possibly due to camera phones and social media perhaps.

I love it. I prefer nude though. There's a nude beach almost 2 hours from my house that I go to every summer. It feels nice not having to worry about a bathing suit, tan lines, etc. Just need my favorite sun hat and a book 😊. Funny enough, people on the outside usually look at nude beaches and think that they're filled with nothing but swingers and serves; it's not that case. I've found that, at least at my beach, people tend to behave better at nude beaches than at regular ones. Do I still get stared at? Absolutely. But I don't get approached. People are more respectful of space and litering. Only annoying thing is the obligatory old white dude "casually" walking around while looking at women.

I don't see the point in women covering up their nipples when everybody knows what nipples look like and men don't bother to cover theirs. Many lifetimes ago, when I used to work at a pizza place, all of the girls who worked there went to one of their houses to hang out before work. And because the girl had a pool, they decided to hang out and tan. And because they had the place to themselves, they decided to tan topless.

This was in the beginning of June, and it was a bright, hot, overcast day - one of the first such days of the season. The results are just as you would imagine - 6 girls with horribly red sunburned tits that peeled for a week. None of them had even thought to put on sunblock, and they assumed that it being overcast would lessen the sun's damage (an overcast day increases the damage, as it reflects the UV rays back towards the Earth). It was BAD. I remember that story every time this subject comes up. LOL.

You would need to work up to that kind of tan, tanning briefly on a regular basis, to avoid lobstering yourself...

People are, overall, better informed about the dangers of the sun and "tanning" than in the early 90s, and that's a good thing. I lost a very close friend to melanoma a couple of years ago...

I think it’s great and totally should be allowed it’s about the appropriate space in my opinion I think you should if you’re comfortable you should be able to be bottom or topless at any beach or pool. But it has to be appropriate place and setting not just anywhere. We should have less body issues and be more open. Swimsuits are a drag
