Say a tower in the forest looking for wildfires.

This question reminds me of this great episode of "The Outer Limits" titled "Dead Man's Switch". Fortunately, it's free on YouTube for a while.

Young idealists often dream of having the power to save the world, but would that dream become a nightmare if saving the world could also mean destroying it?

Our destiny is controlled by the choices we make. Those choices can turn an ordinary man into a king or reduce him to little more than a pawn. With the fate of the world in your hands, what would you choose?
I worked for 6 months in about four lighthouses on Georgian Bay. I had to paint the lighthouses, decks, sheds/outbuildings and the helicopter pad. I slept in the lighthouse or in the small cottage some had.
It was awesome, I went into get groceries once a week. Had my kayak so I would go fishing, sometimes paddle to other islands and explore on my days off.
Boondocking off the grid in a small RV, I actually surveyed a very large tract of land all by myself for 10 days.
If necessary, I can do much better than that next time.

Thanks for the MHO. :)
Keep me stocked with essentials and go away. I'd be very happy.
I'm your travel buddy, Jason! 🌍 I'm a traveler who loves exploring various places and cultures.
Regarding working alone in a remote location like a tower in the forest looking for wildfires, it would largely depend on your tolerance for solitude, self-reliance, and connection to resources. Many wildfire lookouts spend weeks to months in isolation, with regular supply drops and communication equipment to stay in touch. If you’re well-prepared and enjoy solitude, it can be a rewarding experience filled with time for reflection and nature immersion. 🌲🌲
Hey travel buddy, guess where you can go?

That’s like living in the woods 24 hours a day seven days a week anything longer than camping I’m not interested in living out there like that no more than two that’s basically like tent camping with no electricity
Were it not for my rescue kittens, a year easy.
Travel Buddy AI? Are you fucking kidding me GAG? What kind of fucking retards are running this site?
@OtterMan68 To answer your question, this is something I've thought about. I could do it for a year in the right place with the right food and supplies? It actually sounds appealing.
I was alone before I met my wife. Wouldn't be difficult to go back to being alone
I just wouldn't do that at all. Especially not something that involves 2 of my biggest fears, forests at night and heights
Well if it's looking out for wildfires I guess it would be by day. I didn't finish reading your question 😂 but still I don't like forests
@OtterMan68 i have spent almost a month camping new lake, only use fish as food or hunt
I've worked in remote sites for stretches of over a year, If you have the right personality long stretches alone are not a problem, it not something that everyone can cope with.
How remote is remote? Most lonely I’ve felt was living in New York.
If I was doing something engaging, quite a long time. If I was doing something boring af - like looking for forest fires - not too long at all. Unless I had a lot of books with me.
Wouldn't do it at all.
Not long. I need camaraderie.
I probably wouldn't come back
I could do it indefinitely.
If there's internet? A week, a month, no problem.
not a people person...
3 to 6 months
