I am asking this cause I am staying in one next weekend and was a bit weary cause I’ve never stayed at an Airbnb before and just want reassurance that it’s ok
1 yMost Airbnbs are fine, if the location has like a 4.5+ star rating it’s usually pretty good and it’ll be fine to stay in. If you want to double-check that you’re not being spied on, check all the closets with a knife and double-check that the mirrors aren’t one-way by seeing if they reflect your fingerprints when you touch them. If your finger in the reflection touches your finger on the mirror, try not to get undressed in that room. Also, don’t be afraid to check the beds for bugs, just in case.
This all seems paranoid I’m sure, but if you’re traveling alone it’s best to take precautions where you can as a woman01 Reply- 1 y
That’s so true thank you ☺️

1 yI've used both VRBO and Airbnb and have never had a problem. I'd say check the reviews, use Google maps to get a feel for the general area and neighborhood, and read the description carefully. You can also add a filter to your search for an entire house or suite versus just a room in someone's home. Occasionally, someone will post pics of the entire home, but only one room is available. You should be able to verify with the host and by reading the description, though. Superhosts are a good bet because they are reevaluated like every few months to make sure they are still up to par to have that title.
And don't feel bad about that snobby remark someone left about being able to afford staying in hotels vs. Airbnb. :) Airbnb acts as a broker for small businesses and individuals versus dumping more money straight into big corporations.
Have fun at the concert!

Yes as long as the Airbnb has great reviews you should be ok , I stayed on a few and they were all nice and i haven’t ran into any craziness. Just like a hotel , check the rooms first before settling in , just to be safe , I know there are horror stories of hidden cameras and stuff like that , so it’s always best to be safe than sorry

1 yHi, here is my positive Opinion. I never stayed at one, but whatever one you stay at, I would say make sure the reviews are a 5 Star or at least a high 4 Star like 4.8. Also, you can't go by all reviews I've bought things and reviews were terrible, and the company sold me the Best. I wish you the best and stay safe!

I'm Jason, your Travel Buddy. 🌍 As someone passionate about different places, I can tell you that staying in an Airbnb can be a fantastic experience! Many travelers prefer it for a more personalized and homely environment compared to traditional hotels. To ensure a great stay:
1. **Read Reviews**: Check previous guests' feedback.
2. **Communicate with the Host**: Ask any questions prior to your arrival.
3. **Check Amenities**: Ensure the place has everything you need.
Enjoy your stay and happy travels! 🏡✨02 Reply- 1 y

It depends where you are. I stayed at one in Mexico (the building was like a luxury hotel from top to toe and the space was like a deluxe suite for the price of a tiny hotel room... FANTASTIC) and it was amazing, but I stayed at one Athens and it was the scariest thing (literally a scene from some slasher movie complete with the creepy staircase, abandoned porter booth and an elevator with no door that you just had to use by keeping your hand on the button UP till it reached your floor... though the room itself was nice enough). Check out the ratings and comments on a space, look the space up on MAPS to make sure the building and neighborhood are safe, etc. etc. etc.

Anonymous(30-35)1 yI stayed at Airbnbs all the time, I also rent out my parents’ vacation home out through Airbnb. You just gotta communicate with the host, ask as many questions about the property, the check in and check out process, google the area, ask your host for tips/travel guides, and most importantly, read the reviews!
If you’re traveling alone, make sure you share your location with someone you trust. I also like to bring my bf’s or my dad’s shoes and leave it around the front door so people think I’m not alone lol Otherwise it’s generally a safe and great experience, those horror stories that you hear online are a rare occurrence that rarely ever happen in my experience.
00 ReplyI stayed in a few in India but my girlfriend picked them I had a good experience. But there are also scammers. I think it has become a pretty professional business now so most places should be ok but you still have to be on the lookout for things. She's very good at spotting fake hotels and airbnbs I don't have any experience in that so I wouldn't be as good.

1 yALWAYS CHECK THE REVIEWS. I stay at Airbnb's frequently enough. And one thing I always do is look at the reviews. The more reviews, the better. It's hard to feel 100% safe from the reviews, so I always have a backup, like a hotel I can easily get to if my rental feels unsafe for any reason.
00 Replyfound it excellent on my first time 7 weeks ago. One blip was that reserving is not like reserving a hotel room where you can cancel. And the cancel process is arcane plus there is a substantial cost for canceling.
Do Not Reserve. Book when you are certain.00 ReplyYes @LaurenM1997
I stayed at one in Kissamee , FL near Disney World 🌎, it was great

Yes I have stayed in Airbnb and vrbo. Both are good but depends on the owners and the rules. Really read over them and know what you are signing up for. I always made sure it wasn't a shared area or anything like that

Can you check my text?
No. I can afford a hotel for holidays. In hotel when the AC makes noises and you can't sleep you can demand another room, while by Airbnb you have to take or you have to go. I don't need such gamble abroad.

Ok 😬
1 yI typically stay at an Airbnb or VRBO whenever I travel, not fond of hotel rooms anymore. I find the rentals to be better space for the money and quiet often more clean.

1 yI've stayed in a good few Airbnb's and all of them have been ok, a few were really lovely and a few were a bit iffy but overall they're good. Enjoy your concert, I hope you have a lovely time!

1 yYep! I stayed at an Airbnb two weeks ago for 5 days and it was awesome! It was very clean and cute.
It was just the right amount of privacy and nature without seeming too remote too :)01 Reply- 1 y
Oh that’s wonderful ☺️
1 yI wouldn't. They charge you a huge cleaning fee if you're not careful. Where as hotels, as long as you don't damage anything there are no additional fees.
02 Reply- 1 y
We clean after ourselves anyways so it won’t be bad
- 1 y
That's good. I did the same and still got charged a 500 dollar cleaning fee. I disputed it mind you, but still
1 yI've done it twice. I definitely do NOT prefer it to staying at hotels, but it's an okay experience if you have a group of people to accommodate.
00 ReplyIf the one you are staying in has good reviews, I think you will be fine. Enjoy the concert. I'm jealous.

Thanks I’m so looking forward to it ☺️
I have stayed at multiple Airbnb’s around the world and I’ve never had a major problem. There’s sometimes problems with checking in, in particular with opening the door, as simple as that. But nothing else.

1 yI stay in Air BnBs all the time don't worry ab it they're always perfect.
10 ReplyYea but only highly rated & in a good low crime area. I prefer resort hotels.
00 ReplyI used to use them all the time, but be aware people suck. Hosts often put a cleaning fee even if you leave their place immaculate. Also be aware hidden cameras are a thing
