LOTS of people we know have moved to TN, including one daughter and her family to Knoxville area. Several people from our neighborhood, too, and some from our church. We're stuck in the crap pit of ILL, (very appropriate abbrev).

  @coxoabean That's all good. I am 8th generation Californian and have lived in many different parts of the state. I now live in the Great Lakes region of the country and I miss California every day. However, there are a lot of negatives, at this point in living there, so go in with your eyes open if you move there. Where in the state you chose to live makes a huge difference.

  It depends on what part of LA. It’s a huge area, heavy to very heavy traffic pretty much 24 hours a day, high rent and depending on here you are, high crime rate and gangs. It goes neighborhood to neighborhood. Your friends should know. If you have the money, there’s lots to do. I prefer Orange County and San Diego, but still have to watch the area you choose to live in. Just do your homework before deciding. It’s a great state to live in if you have the money to support a good lifestyle. There’s lots of stuff to do for free, too.
