Starting high school in Stockholm, Sweden tomorrow. Gimme some advice?

Well tomorrow is my first day at an actual school in Sweden and I’m honestly rlly exited but also kinda nervous. For some background I’m black and I’m from the US and I honestly don’t know what to expect. I know that Stockholm is a very diverse place but I’m going to a pretty white school. Anyways what should I expect. Any advice would be great!

You will be accepted, schools in sweden in terms of socialising are a little mix of like in the us and Europe, even if it's mostly whites there are probably a lot of different cultures. Respect the teachers and trust them when you have some problem most of them are happy to help with anything. Good luck and have fun

I’m from Sweden. People will probably be interested in getting to know you and ask questions about your life in the US when they find out you’re an exchange student. They might be a little shy or quiet in the beggining though, that’s what Swedes/nordics are known for. They’ll warm up eventually. I think you should try to reach out and gently start small conversations, that way you might get to know people faster than waiting for them to approach you. Some will probably do so, but lots will be too shy or reserved to even if they’re interested. This is especially true if you don’t speak swedish, because lots of people feel uncomfortable using English to approach you even though they speak English. So it might make things go faster and easier if you’re the one to kind of make the first moves.
