Do you pick up hitchhikers?

A guy I sort of know was walking about a mile up from a car on the side of the road. I pulled over and offered him a ride and pulled away before realizing I've never really done that before. He isn't a complete stranger and had seen his car. It just caught me. With mobile phones these days most people have help at their fingertips.

Yep, although I rarely see them any more. In the 70s you could easily see a dozen or two hitchers in one day. I was big into hitch hiking myself at one time. I have hitched around 15K miles or so.

Hitch hiking is a great way to travel. I would love to do it again.

At least you recognized him. But i would never risk it.

But you are right they can call a relative or tow truck these days, with cell phones, not like 1990, when only the rich had car phones.

Around here, I do it. I never did while living in the USA and never would.
