When flying, would you pay more for convenience or travel a little longer to save money?

My family is planning a 10-day trip to Italy from the US in a few months. I live about a 2 hour drive from them. Simply put, I have 2 options, (a) drive to their city and fly with them on the cheaper flight or (b) fly from my city, and save time, but pay a little more money.

Option A: Fly on Lufthansa from their city ($1068 r/t, ~15 hours in flight each way w/ layover @ FRA + 2 hours on the road each way)

Option B: Fly on British Airways from my city ($1292 r/t, ~14 hours in flight each way w/ layover @ LHR)

When flying, would you pay more for convenience or travel a little longer to save money?
