Absolutely. It may be a one way trip, but the tension and ability to be a part of something that huge would be insane. Also the pay would be quite nice, also absolutely useless on mars, so it could only help loved ones left behind for years at a time.

With all the difficulty getting to mars, I would think that once a base camp is set up there, it would be a long time before any return trip is set up. Like building a launch pad and refueling facilities on planet. That would be such a massive undertaking, and an obvious back seat to surviving and building a secure infrastructure with activities to distract.
