I am a female and had to undergo a very embarassing search when travelling recently,

If anyone else have been through something similar, what procedure was actually followed in your case?

I find it hard to put words on what happened to me, but I am not sure it was done correctly.

I was made to stand with a leg raised on a chair, and then spread myself down there as she was looking.

Extremely degrading.
