What is the longest time you've been stuck still in a traffic jam?

Probably when there was a massive car pile up in South Carolina. I was driving to Asheville, NC from Florida and several miles up the road from me there was like a 10 car pile up that blocked both sides of the highway. Traffic was completely stopped for 4 hours. Two medevac helicopters had to land to take critically wounded people to distant hospitals. Since I was traveling, I had a cooler with food and drinks and it happened around lunch time so I turned off my car, ate lunch in the middle of traffic, and then listen to music for several hours on an mp3 player.

Worse part was that I drove through the middle of the night and had already been on the road for like 8 hours.

About twenty years ago, a guy was threatening to jump off the overpass on the freeway here in Chicago, and vehicles were at a standstill for about an hour.
