Probably at least a couple hours in traffic that is stopped for an accident. That has happened several times.
But I've been stuck for hours in crawling, rush hour traffic on many occasions when I lived in the Los Angeles area.
The worse place can be driving south over the Grape Vine and into Los Angeles during the wrong time of day. It can add 3 or more hours to the trip.
Driving to or from San Francisco can be insane during rush traffic, too.
I'm sooo glad that I don't have to deal with that kind of traffic very often any more.
Yeah I definitely wouldn't wanna do that on a daily basis
I left my gym and noticed that traffic was bumper to bumper in all directions. Someone told me that a train broke down that was stopping traffic. At the same time, there was a huge car accident that blocked the freeway entrance. This person said he called the CHP and they told him it will take at least 2 hours.
Fortunately, there was a movie theater within walking distance so I went there and saw the Harry Potter movie. After it was finished I looked out of the theater window and saw traffic was still bumper. So I saw another movie. When the movie was done traffic was flowing.
Handled it like a bossš¤£
I think my husband and I were both stuck on a highway in the Rockies during a snowstorm for a little over six hours. Thankfully we didnāt get plowed under like some of the smaller cars, we were in his truck and it had enough clearance and four-wheel-drive to get us out when the roads finally started moving again. That was about 15 years ago
Yeah good thing you had fyor wheel drive
On my way back from Jersey we got stuck in standstill traffic for 4 hours. Complete nightmare.
Sounds like it... That was the second time in two weeks, first was had a tire blow out on freeway and took the tow truck over two hours to comeš

Nearly 9 hours. More or less a rock slide on a mountain highway. It happened in the middle of the summer driving season when a shit load of people drive up into the mountains for the weekends and holidays. So there was no turning around or detours. You just had to wait tell they cleared the rock slide to start moving again.
Aww man that must have really sucked... I was done after 2 hours
A few years ago, while returning from the LA area on Highway 5 (which is only 2 lanes each direction for much of its length, despite being the primary north-south artery), construction had reduced the road to 1 lane, and there was an accident that caused additional accidents. We spent an extra 6 hours in traffic to move about 70 miles.
Damn that a long time...
Yeah I hear you
commute can take anything from two to three hours in Mexico City... stuck in traffic means over 6 hours at least
which is why I once refused an offer to move and work over there... longest I've been stuck is just one hour though, and that was bad enough for me... lol
Hear that!
It was in 1989, so I donāt remember exactly how long it was, but it was on 95 so where in Maryland snd I think it was at least 3-4 hours. It was so bad that people were getting out of their cars and walking around on the highway to stretch their legs.
That must have sucked
Well, that's a good thing lol
4 hours and 45 mins in Jakarta, the taxi driver had 1 English sung song, the octopusses garden by the beetles which we played on repeat for the whole journey, he became aggitated around the 3hr 30min mark where he violently shat himself. I honestly wish this was not a true story though I will conceed, I still enjoy telling it!
Aww manš¤¦š¼āāļø lolol that sounds like a fun rideš¤£
I betšš¤£
When I first moved to New Jersey fto work in New York City (NYC) several years ago, I got stuck in traffic on Interstate 278, just outside NYC. There was a multi-vehicle crash that shut down the highway for 2-1/2 hours. Some cars tried to go through the muddy median and escape the other way; several got stuck. I, along with several hundred other cars, just waited it out.
Yeah, sometimes that's all you can do
I was trap in a traffic jam in Chicago on 94, I tried to get to hwy 41 turn off and hit all lanes of standing still.
How long it took, I don't remember. I just know that I saw the sunset and nightfall start. That's how long.
It was that way all the way though to Kenosha
Well that sounds funš lol
I just wanted to get home because it was a long busy day and I was tired and sore and sweaty.. But got off early today and once got home, I wasn't going back out for anything lol
We all been there
Sometimes right next to each other without knowing... Chick from work said she was trying to wave at me, so guess she was stuck next to me lolol
Hell last Monday I was leaving Milwaukee, we could have past each other
I waved, didn't you see meš¤£š¤£
Nope, I was busy giving some blonde woman the finger that cut me off.
I bet that was you
š¤£š¤£š¤£ although think finding white hairs, so now I'll be there white haired lady cutting you off and giving you the finger while I doššš¤£š¤£
You just need to meet the family, you'll fit right in.
Your humor is just as whacked as ours.
You drink and smoke, it would be like you never left hime
Are you calling me "whacked" Sir š§
š¤£š¤£
You bet your white hair granny ass I am
Hahahaha 𤣠that got meš¤£š¤£š¤£
But the white hairs are on my head, not my assš¤£š¤£š¤£
You saw my ass again, you stay away from my ass with that duck tape. That shit hurts
Ever get drunk and duck tape someone's hairy ass
𤣠what the heck lolol
And no, can't say that I have lol
The longest one was for hours and i had to turn off the car and wait...
Don't pretend naughty sponge on not knowing the cause of traffic there, i heard the news and the reason was a blondie lady selling ice cream in her mini van, she caused the traffic cause all of the people parked their cars in the middle of the road to get a cone of ice cream from the spongy forehead ice cream factories 😋
Cops were sent to fix the traffic situation but they couldn't resist buying ice cream from the mythical spongy forehead...
Some witnesses said that when the ice cream containers have finished, the mini van and the big spongy forehead blondie lady have disappeared instantly, some people are claiming that this lady was an E. T and she came from space 🤣🤣
2-3 hours to go 10 miles two times in my life, one time in the 80s when a propane tanker flipped over and they were trying to contain by closing off roads in a 2 mile radius and my home was 2 miles away from it. Another time in 2003 when the electric grid went out for over 12 hours on the whole north east, I was at work on deliveries and took hours to get back to the terminal because all the traffic lights were off the whole way back
I hate when the traffic lights are out...
It was crazy, I had to find a short cut to the expressway so I didnāt have to stop anymore waiting for people to move
I don't know for sure, but it's been at least a few hours.
When I lived in California I used to stay at work an extra hour or two to avoid the traffic. It was always a parking lot. That was normal daily traffic. It didn't start dying down until about 6:30.
The longest delays I've had were due to some kind of construction or an emergency.
I donāt recall exactly how long it was but when I was a kid, traffic was shut down long enough to put their car in park and get out for a while. Some people were playing hacky sack and others were socializing with neighboring cars trying to figure out what was going on. For whatever reason, everyone seemed more relaxed than Iāve ever witnessed in adulthood with traffic issues.
Nowadays, Iāve experienced about 25 extra minutes on a commute during rush hour traffic.
The day I was coming home from Wisconsin last summer, I hit a nasty backup trying to get around chicago. It took a good 3 hours to get just a few miles through that mess.
And the day I brought the 69 Camaro home from down river late last summer, the Canadian customs agents walked off the job and backed truck traffic up terribly through Detroit, making it take over 3 hours to get past the Ambassador Bridge and start moving.
That was a 90 degree day and my winter beater had the radiator packed full of fish flies from a few months previous... I had the air conditioning running, and it kicked off. Then I saw the temp gauge on the dash... it was up there in the 'Chernobyl' range. I ended up having to crank the heat up to the retirement home setting and run the fan full blast to pull it back down into the normal range.
I was in Mexico City on business. The ride in the morning from my hotel to the customer's site was 30 minutes. Traffic was busy but moving. The ride back was a different story. 100% parking lot. And the driver told me it is like that every day in the afternoon. After 3 hours, I was able to see my hotel off in the distance. Even though I was not familiar with the area, I was done with sitting so got out and walked the rest of the way!
Don't blame you... Wish I could have done that lol
It took me two hours to go 25 miles a couple of days ago. Finally came to what was causing it. Two large tow teucks were blocking the fast lane and a bit more to put air in a motorcyclist's tire. Must have repaired the tube first. But tied up traffic instead of moving it to the side. Once past it, traffic sped up to freeway speeds.
18 hours during the blizzard of ā96. I was on a major highway the snow was accumulating faster than anyone could clear it. Ultimately it snowed 52 inches over 3 days. However they cleared the road I was on enough to pass in 18 hours.
That's way too long to be stranded..
Four hours coming back from a trip from Louisiana. Parts of the 1-10 freeway are literally built over a swamp so if the freeway shuts down you cannot get off the freeway. Everyone is stuck for miles. FUN TIMES!
Oh yeah that would really suck... And yeah had a tire blow out last week on same freeway and took the tow truck driver almost two hours to get there so that was second time in two weeks stuck for hours on the freeway
Yeah but at least didn't get into accident or anything. Could have been way worse
During a group bus tour to Orlando years ago, our bus got delayed by 4 hours and we arrived at the hotel at midnight instead of the 8:00 p. m. we were scheduled to arrive there, I think it was because border patrol got suspicious of our tour bus and singled us out for investigation or maybe it was traffic issues, I donāt remember now, but I know we were 4 hours late.
Over night on M62 overnight.
luckily had been on reservist training and the 3 of us had a land rover packed with food and cooking stuff. We put on curries, Tea, etc and shared out sleeping bags for kids.

one early morning like 3 hours in the Fremont Area they had a multi-car
wreck this was after concert. another the 580/880/80 connector
had a 9-week class the first month as a new retiree that costs me a
day of class time And Gas to drive back home costed me an hour and half
time
September 2009 in Stockholm. About 9 hours because there was a massive robbery operation and a stolen helicopter. That day was funny and full with anger (9 hours still traffic).
9 hours𤯠damn
5 hours, 20 minutes back home left. I was coming from houston, tx back from work and we sat in our cars because someone went to heaven that night. Tragic but it could've been me. :(
Aww sorry.. But glad it wasn't you
12 hours instead of 45 minutes. Reason was an absolute winter chaos on the highway itself and on all exits into the cities/villages. I had a massive headache when I finally arrived. Ugh...
Holy crap that's yeah way too long to be stuck in traffic, I'd have had a headache too, I actually did last night, it was pretty hot out yesterday and even with the air on the sun still beating down on you through the windshield...
For me it was the staring into brake-lights for hours and hours...
I know the feeling
My cousin was stuck in traffic at the bank for at least 20-25 minutes waiting to get her turn and the line was long, she should have parked and gone in and saved herself from waiting.
Yeah banks can get crowded for sure
@Brainsbeforebeauty Yeah for sure š
@Brainsbeforebeauty We shut the vehicle off so we didn't waste gas
I was on my Motorcycle when traffic was Backed up so I just drove on the Sidewalk of the highway 🛣
I never Take the Highway when Iām in my car I only take the highway if Iām driving my motorcycle 🏍 that way if traffic is backed up I can Drive on the side walk of the highway and pass all the cars 🚘
I was at a dead stop for about 20 minutes and my girlfriend happened to be in the car with me. We took advantage of the situation and did nothing but listen to music and we didnāt go any further than second base. She still had her dress on but she took her bra off and let me put my hands inside her dress.
Well today a 20 minute drive was over an hour. That was fun. I can't be sure of the actual length but I think I've had a 145-50 drive more than double.
And a trip with work it was the whole day basically spent on buses in trafic. We went from a work site to a city back to the site. Then some colleagues and me had to travel back to our base site normally 2 hours away took ages. And tbh by the end of the 2nd bus trip I was kinda wanting to get hit by one just for s change of vehicle.
Well glad you didn't get hit by a bus
Tbh yes it maybe a bit over the top solution. I was just sick if them. We were over in another city Sunday to Thursday that was 2 hours away and we travelled there and back by bus. Plus the hotel and city were just crap. After that spening from 8am to about 7-8 pm on buses with like 2 hours maybe 3 not on them I was just done with them. So I was able to get a car and drove myself everyweek.
Good you got a car!
Yeah that's trye. I guess the only advantage of being stuck on a bus is you can do other stuff like read or watch a film as you ain't that driver.
Around 6 hours. A over-height semi slammed into a key overpass with only a single alternative route and they had to funnel about 75,000 cars through a single lane 5 mile detour.
That sounds like it was a nightmare
It was. You couldnāt drive above it or below it since the supports were cracked so they had to funnel everyone through the Main Street of the nearby town. I wasnāt even anywhere near the bridge, but I had to merge into the alternative route. So there were people stuck for far longer. It basically shut businesses down for a week in the main city until they could find some way to move the traffic better. We called it āBridgepocalypseā and there were bumper stickers and shirts made of it.
Maybe about 15 minutes. I donāt live in a busy place and more often than not Iām stuck behind sheep and not cars lol
Lol..
7 horrifying hours I almost ran max. I donāt recommend Lagos. That traffic makes me never want to live there
Sounds horrifying
I would say 5 hours, in snow. In a place where it normally does not snow. I was happy to see the traffic moving when it got going.
After 5 hours, I can imagine you were
I was driving through Wyoming years ago and got stuck on a Mountain road for I want to say 6 hours. Some people broke out lawnchairs to wait it out. They had road construction and shut down both lanes while they worked.
Yeah that's a long time... Like the lawn chair thing thoughš¤£
5-6 hours in certain suburbs of Delhi is a common thing. South Delhi is still better as the roads are clean, spacious and there is usually not much traffic. There are also no stray animals lol.
This kind of stuff doesn't happen in Mumbai. There are more roads (but less greenery than New Delhi).
I think 2 hours was the absolute worst for me. After that I decided to ALWAYS check the traffic before driving anywhere.
That works sometimes not always, not if something happens when you're already on the freeway
@Brainsbeforebeauty Yeah; I know.
Three to five hours just sitting in traffic for and accident that judging by the amount of vehicles involved at least 3 people died from Iām not the smartest man in the world but I know an 18 wheeler isnāt supposed to look like a twizzler
Aww yeah that sounds pretty bad... This winter a semi caught on fire on the freeway, I was headed west and it was on the east side of the freeway, but yeah the driver got ejected from his semi and flight for lifed to the hospital, don't know if he made it or not
@Brainsbeforebeauty im about to finish but I just had to stop at the āthis winter a semi caught on fire on the freeway ā š in the winter? How? Lol
@Brainsbeforebeauty be careful on the road seriously not paying attention is such a easily preventable means of dying
It was poor visibility, he was probably going too fast for conditions, He slammed into the overpass and yeah his semi was in flames...
@Brainsbeforebeauty Jesus Christ!
It was like 2 hours, but some guy was trying to kill himself by jumping off the bridge.
Oh God... I hope they were able to stop him
Social media dating and through friends and family.
I think I totally mixed up two questions! I've been stuck in traffic for maybe 2 hours longest? Food, sleep and music and I'll survive!
Lol yeah you did but it happens lol and yeah music is good... Just in the heat with air on full blast for two hours with gas prices the way they are, not good
Luckily it was in the evening, so it was already cooling off, we got home at 8.
Well that's good
maybe 2 hours or more. i used to drive for lyft so sometimes i had ones that made me go through crazy rush hour L. A. traffic and yeah... at least i got paid for it lol
That's good! I certainly didn'tš
6-7 hours it was raining heavily and several cars had gotten stuck and submerged.
Aww man sounds bad
I was in traffic for three and a half hours one time when they were having a golf tournament. It's usually a half hour drive
Yeah, same my commute usually 35-45 min... But got the chance to go home early today so I took it, wasn't chancing another two hour drive home
I hate driving in the south shore of where I live. There is always traffic
Yeah I don't like commuting on the freeway for the job
Just one of the many benefits to living in a rural area no traffic jam... no traffic period
Answer to your question is 0 minutes because I've never been stuck in traffic
I'm moving by you lolol
Sounds better and better lol
I was in a snow storm and it took me over 4 hours to get home. It was usually a 1 hour ride.
That sucks, I'm sure you had the heat cranked
Sounds good lol
Couldn't you whip it out the window𤣠or pee in a beer bottleš¤£š¤£ you had six bottles to fill lolol or cans
That fuckin second pic made me FUCKIN Laugh ma balls off. but i was stuck in traffic for more than 40mins n it was the longes ass paining shit, my ass felt hot n pain.
Glad you got a laugh š yeah I was pretty done for when got home other night
lol just keep them posts coming in i do appreciate.
Miami heading to Ft. Lauderdale for a MTG tournament. Normally 15 minute trip took over 4 hours:/
Oh wow
I've blocked it out of memory. Probably a couple of hours.
Hear that lol
When I get stuck in traffic, the 'verbal diarrhea' of roadrage hits hard. That's why I avoid rush-hour commuter driving.
That verbal diarrhea must be contagious, I think I caught it the other dayš¤£š¤£
Yes, its HIGHLY CONTAGIOUS where I live!šššš¤£š
š¤£š¤£
Couple of hours maybe, at a stand still.
Once took road trip, should have been 3 hours, took nearer 7hrs. Wasn't just one hold up but several, and we did stop a couple of times I think
WOOD STOCK 2 DAYS
WHAT A BLAST FIRST CHILD MADE THERE
āļøāļøš
About 7 hours driving back to Seattle from Madras, OR after watching the total solar eclipse of 2017.
Traffic typically isn't that bad where I live. I'd say the worst is probably an hour though.
For me it was six hours due being stuck in a covid testing queue. Next time I'll take a bottle!
never, in my country it is illegal to be in a car when i am in a car, and anyone who does not salute my car as i drive by i can legally shoot them out the window.
but you can hear me coming as i always blast "peaches" by the president of the united states when driving
About 2 hours which is kinda scary considering the whole country is like 30km from the lower end to the upper end and I had to go across like 2 towns.
A couple of hours in PA driving daughter to/from college.
Miles and miles of treachery, just waiting to happen.
for hours because of an accident two people being stupid cost lots of wasted time and gas we should be able to sue people for wasting our time by doing something stupid
In the UK I was in a traffic jam that probably lasted several hours. Most people turned off their cars. It was the only one I ever experienced there.
I was stuck in traffic for 3 hours caused by two trucks who couldn't pass each other on the highway. 3 miles of bumper to bumper traffic behind them and they were doing 50 in a 75.
Probably 8 hours. It was right around Valentine's Day. Left work at 5pm, didn't get home until almost 1am.
Boy did that suck!!!
3 hours. Because of a fcking air show. Hicks and airplanes.
Where I live maybe 30 minutes.
Yeah that happens sometimes on way home.. Ride to work 35 min, ride home, 45-1 hour sometimes
4 hours on the motorway in static traffic after a crash
