How do Uber or Lyft drivers not make a ton of money doing these airport rides?

it’s crazy. It can be over $200 at the airport for like an hour ride. I think a dollar a minute is a fair price. When you get way beyond that it’s just straight up robbery

Because it isn't usually worth it.

They may get one or two of those prices a week at most. But they are also competing against each other as well.

Factor in platform costs and fees - it can even cost them money.

I knew a cabby from way back when Uber started out. The costs to him to move onto an app were just not worth it.

And 200 for an hour drive doesn't seem that high, espacially when the drive is not only an hour long but usually also quite far.

They don't keep that whole fare I don't think. Internet says 75% is what they get. Then they have to service their own car, car payments (likely), insurance, and you can only do so many of those trips per day. It is an hour back. So divide that by two.
