I don't think so, no.

I travel to Chicago frequently, and there, at least, it's considerably cheaper to take a cab, than an Uber/Lyft. I only take one of those services when an cab is unavailable.

Quite the opposite. A lot more people are turning off mobile app drivers and using cabs instead.
