As far as I know no. There is an episode where sam and dean are tricked to think they have a "normal" life and their names are Dean smith and sam wesson (As an Easter-egg). Also the Samuel colt was a hunter in his time and a magic colt, built by him, plays a huge role in supernatural.

As for me I like all thing strange & unusual, paranormal & things not of this world. In the land of haunted houses be careful what you bring because the ghosts can always use it on you instead. As for me I would bring a slingshot & meatballs to the haunted house.
